Virtual Power Plant and DSR

A virtual power plant enables precise and flexible management of supply and demand in the energy market.

It assumes real-time response to increased energy demand by managing controllable generating units, e.g. cogeneration or a biogas plant. The service can also automatically reduce energy demand by customers, such as HVAC systems or cold stores.

Ilość energii elektrycznej wytworzonej przy użyciu odnawialnych źródeł energii jest podatna na wahania. Np: gdy nie ma odpowiedniego nasłonecznienia lub siła wiatru jest zbyt słaba, elektrownie wiatrowe i słoneczne dostarczają mniej energii.
Aby zapewnić nieprzerwane dostawy energii i właściwą częstotliwość sieci konieczne jest powiązanie w sieć wytwórców energii z OZE (elektrowni biogazowych, wiatrowych, fotowoltaicznych, hydroelektrowni) i bilansowanie w czasie rzeczywistym podaży i popytu na energię.
Nad sprawnym funkcjonowaniem rozproszonych źródeł energii czuwa inteligentny system informatyczny zapewniając ciągłość dostaw energii. Pozwala on w czasie rzeczywistym oszacować zapotrzebowanie na energię elektryczną i sterować jej podażą.
Operator zarządza wolumenem energii produkowanej przez podmioty podpięte do VPP, w ten sposób odpowiada na potrzeby rynku w czasie rzeczywistym.
Podłączając się do elektrowni wirtualnej zyskuje się efektywne narzędzie redukcji kosztów: poprzez precyzyjne zarządzanie energią poprawia się znacząco efektywność energetyczną oraz dostęp do narzędzi pozwalających na zarabianie w programie DSR i w ramach umów PPA.
Do sieci wirtualnej elektrowni mogą przyłączyć się przedsiębiorstwa, spółdzielnie mieszkaniowe, samorządy, budynki biurowe, a także domy jednorodzinne.

We have been cooperating with Lerta for nearly 2 years. We have successfully recommended both the company and its solutions to Microsoft, and invited them to a pilot project in which we are testing a virtual power plant management platform to perform DSR tasks.

Polsonic - energy management in an office building - case study

Lerta Energy Intelligence system automatically controls the heating in the office building, reducing heat demand and optimizing heat consumption, and reads data from electricity meters that allows each tenant to be billed according to actual consumption and to catch anomalies in electricity management.

The biggest challenge for us was the high energy consumption of the existing solution, rigid heating hours of the building causing penalties for exceeding the contracted capacity in the morning and time-consuming, "manual" control of meters.

We installed a Lerta Energy Intelligence system that controls the heating of the entire building with a division into individual floors and the possibility of atopic temperature selection for each room, corridors, etc. We have generated thermal energy savings of 22% per year.

We have been cooperating with Lerta since February 2019, when it implemented the Lerta Energy Intelligence system in the Polsonic office building. As part of the project, measurement and control devices were installed, connected to the application for data management and analysis. Total heat energy savings are 22. 5% compared to the period before the system was implemented.
